A mostly true journey of a girl, her man, and their three kids; all trying to live harmoniously in cities somewhere in Utah. Names and exact locations may be changed in order to protect the grouchy.
My prediction, given my intimate knowledge of the situation, is that ALL of the things said tomorrow @ P/T conference will be good. Of course, I am biased, as I am in all things Jo Jo. I look forward to hearing any things that anyone dares say the aren't "good." I'm sure that will be a very short, as in blank, post. Luv ya'all...
...said the perfect grandpa. I'm hoping for short and sweet. And positive. <3 you.
Oh dear, I'm not sure I'd like the sound of that warning. Can a parent call in sick to the parent/teacher conference? I'd think I'd go with that!
My kids are pros at "the warning". It's always the safest route. Calling in sick is brilliant.. Hmmm
I have a feeling most if not all of it will be good tomorrow. He is probably just trying to lower our expectations so that a good report will seem even better. You have to give him credit, he has learned how to play the game :)
Lowering the bar. He really is our child. It will be great, right?
that is just too cute, oh my.. Moments like that just make parenthood awesome, I bet you will be so proud from the reports.
His report card was great. He did start out the year letting us know that "sitting at a desk" wasn't his cup of tea....One of the reasons I love to blog is so I can record these moments. The youngest definitely has had his share of quotes :)
I lOVE that!! So adorable. I remember teacher interview when I was little I was always so scared.
I remember being scared as well! He is having a good year so far, so I'm hoping for the best!
Sounds like something my kids tell me everytime there's a PTC coming! How clever of them! (and manipulative!?) We just had ours. Thank God it went well and I wasn't unpleasantly surprised! The school my kids go to have PTC every first Friday of the month after school hours. Nothing like keeping a close eye on them, right?
VIcki, I'm glad your conferences went well. Once a month is a lot...that would be hard as a parent and as a teacher, but you're right...You definitely get to keep a close eye on the kids. That's always good!
This made me laugh so hard since Rick and I were having a similar discussion in our home last night with our youngest. I am sure yours PT Conference will be wonderful, I am bracing for mine.
Good luck to you, dear friend. I hope all goes well. Funny how people in the teaching field get so nervous, eh? No pressure!!
how funny. i hope all went well =)
Thanks so much. We just got back. He's doing really well. Whew!
This is the same warning I give to Pete as we are headed to Jackson, for pretty much any family event. ;)
This is how we are still married! The warning before any event. Low expectations=happiness. It's how we roll :)
best of luck!! I'm sure it'll be great!
Thanks. The teacher said he was kind and polite. I pointed to hime to make sure we were talking about the same child. Apparently we were! It was a great conference :)
Well, I am guessing that the "meeting" has taken place by now... I give my man credit for "laying the groundwork." I'm sure he was looking at the meeting as a "50-50" chance of "it can't be so bad if I have SOME good in there." Hey, been there, done that. Here's hoping everybody is smiling!!!On another note: congrats to your Lions and BOO to my Texans!!! Take care, Slu
Thanks Slu, everyone was smiling! How about those Lions?? We went shopping after 3rd quarter. My heart was broken. When Mark showed me the final score on the phone I was sure it was a mistake! So happy for them though.Don't say Boo. Your Texans are great. If you were the chargers who got spanked by Denver, THAT would have been sad. You're still number one in your division! We play da Bears next Monday...Hmmm
Love this! What a cutie he is <3Thanks my FF for posting about my HUGE sale! Your a peach. ;)
I called it a Jewelry Clearance sale. Is that the correct term?? I need to throw it out there on the twitter Universe.
I hope everything went well.
You are so sweet! It was a great conference. The youngest loves his teacher and his class. It makes all the difference :)
Well at least he didn't say that everything would be bad. I'm quite sure all is well (**fingers crossed**)Jae Mac, I'm Just Sayin'...(Damn!)
Ha! You're right on that one. THe conference was terrific. He's doing well academically and more important, he's kind. Whew. The only complaint? The same one I always received. "He's needs to be more organized..." Yeah, he does. I have to find someone who can show him how to be that way :)
Words from the wise.... some of the most profound sentiments I've ever come across have been from lips of that Golden child. Your other kids are moderate, but that one... He's a keeper. ;)
Golden child? I thought that was the middle kid? You have to get your accolades straight, Silver adult!
Talk to me.
