A mostly true journey of a girl, her man, and their three kids; all trying to live harmoniously in cities somewhere in Utah. Names and exact locations may be changed in order to protect the grouchy.
Well, I spent almost 10 years in MI, going to college and all and even though I hated the freaking cold and snow (and loved it!) anything MI is dear to my heart! I also stopped by to let you know that I nominated you for the 'Sunshine Blogger Award'! Stop by at http://thegreekhousewife.blogspot.gr/ to check it out! Congratulations!!!
Oops! There's another award! I also nominated you for the 'Liebster Award' Congratulations!!! Don't forget to stop by at http://thegreekhousewife.blogspot.gr/ and find out about it! Oh! I just saw you have already recieved it. It's ok with me, really, if you want to decline. They tend to be laborious.
Vicki! Thank you girl! I have a few to accept and will absolutely get to them soon. I adore you for thinking of me. I don't have a sunshine award!! Woo Hoo!. Where in Michigan did you live? When? Wouldn't it be funny if we crossed paths sometime and never knew it?
U of M!!! But I have to say I'm more of a Rangers fan when it comes to baseball. Since my boy, Josh, didn't take us very far into the postseason, though, I'm hoping the Tigers go all the way.
Hey Hil! How are you? I remember the Ranger thing. Always a bit easier to root for the "home" team when our new home-teams are out :) It's good to see positive things happening in the Mitten. Are you a Texans fan? If you are, go you! What a great start to the season!
Haha! Thank you girl. They're all just scores from games (college and pro) from Michigan teams. It's not often they win, let alone win the same week :) Thanks for the congrats, I'd like to believe I had everything to do with it!! LOL
Glad you are smiling, Slu. And thanks always, for dropping in. How great has the baseball been? Pretty wonderful. Cancelled game tonight which means our winning streak continues! Wahhoooo :)
Hey-O John. To be truthful, other than the Jazz, I'm not that keyed in to the local teams...It's sounding like I don't need to be, eh? I do like Weber basketball....but we're not there yet. You're on to something there...stick with what you know and for a week or two, Michigan isn't looking too shabby. Knocking HARD on wood :)
Good idea keeping your sports love in the family. Less arguing that way.Our Tigers are playing your Yankees right now, so lets just pretend we are rooting for ....chocolate. Yay!
I do hate all sports, but since your asking.... NBA - Laker Nation all day long! MLB - NY Yankees it doesn't matter if Derek Jeter is out for the season, I still root, root, root for the Yankees! NFL - Dallas Cowboy, just love those damn renegades! NHL - LA Kings, Wayne Gretzky made me take notice!
Well this made me laugh! What am I going to do with a funny new blogger friend who likes the Yankees AND the Cowboys? Dear heavens. It's a great thing you "hate" sports! We'll have to agree to disagree..and Go RED WINGS!! :)
Oh - I am SO lost! I don't know my American Football from my Baseball! All those acronyms are about to implode my brain!!! Now, FOOTBALL football (that's soccer to all you crazy cats) that's a TV sport I definitely miss! :D
Josie! I know. I come from a long line of sports lovers. Especially sports from Michigan. Soccer? It's the sport I know least about, but our local team (MLS) Real Salt Lake usually perform well. BTW, I love the term Crazy Cats. Especially coming from the gal who taught me "cow bag". Hahaha!
Gooooooooo Blue!!!! It's a split household here at the Wilkinson's. 3 to 1, actually! I think the oldest boy loves to make the rest of us look at all the GREEN! :P Have a WONDERFUL GO BLUE! GO GREEN! Saturday my FF! <3
Yay!!!! I hope your little one was okay with the outcome. That's always hard. We're all Blue. All the time here, so it's a bit easier. Unless we lose :P Have a wonderful week, my friend :)
No ignorance at all. It's just cheesy fun I like to have with my family. I couldn't tell you anything about tennis (except that Wimbledon used to interrupt my soaps!) Formula 1? Who knew you had the need for speed? I'm so glad to hear from you. Smiles right back at you, friend :)
While we were in Phoenix, Rick and I toured the field where the Diamondbacks play. He tried to talk me into a Diamondbacks jersey to wear to softball/baseball games. I decided it would be easier to cut off my right arm than betray my beloved Cubbies that way.
I also tend to bleed True Blue (Aggie Blue), unless they are playing the Utes and then the early indoctrination received at the hands of my father takes over and I have to cheer for Big Red as well. Those games always leave me in a cold sweat and feeling a bit schizophrenic.
I feel you. We have a Michigan/Michigan state rivalry where my extended family at home is clearly divided. Chicago love is the same as Detroit. You're a true fan, or you're not a fan at all. Trust me, as my team just lost the World Series. In a sweep. Ouch!
I guess a picture is worth more than a thousand words! Red Sox (Sob, sob), Patriots, Celtics, Bruins. That's my list, never changes. Have to go off and unfriend anyone above who said Yankees!
Karen, these days, a picture is all I have. Haha! I'm glad to read you are true to your teams. That's a great fan. Especially now, since every one of those teams of mine have lost since I last posted this :(
Yeah! Michigan! Anything Michigan! I have s soft spot for MI!!!!
ReplyDeleteWho would have guessed it? Two bloggy friends from Utah and Greece sharing the Mitten love!!! Haha. I've got to get your background story, Vicki!
