Funny Friday, May 2020
Today’s post is this month’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write 5 captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they’ve come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.
***Because I was all out of cleverness this week, today's answers were provided by my kids. (ages 26, 22, 15)
1. "Who in the world is Fishing Jetty and why does she think she can tell me what to do????"
2. This is the future site of "Joe Exotic II: The Crocodile Overlord"
3. "Define Swimming," I said as I stood there in my scuba gear.
4. "Oh He** No!" -Michael Phelps, when previewing the 2016 Olympic swimming conditions in Rio De Janeiro..
5. "Short end of a very long story, THIS is how I found out I'd lost my position as head life-guard."
Thanks, kids.
Thanks, kids.
Stay dry and healthy, friends!

Well, I now know that your kids inherited your "witty" and "funny". They need to do this more often.
ReplyDeleteKaren, my kids make me laugh everyday (well, almost.) I really should have thought of using their skills for these posts sooner! Enjoy your weekend, woman! <3
DeleteThat Fishing Jetty sounds very authoritative. I'm sure it is a much more effective sign than one that just says "no swimming". Good question about if scuba diving would qualify as swimming, but looking at that water not sure it would be a good spot to scuba either. I've got to go with #5 as my favorite though, of course it would be even better if the life guard's name was Fishing Jetty. Thanks to you and your crack team of writers for a funny Friday. Love, M
ReplyDeleteYour reply was very safe, and smart. Until you picked a favorite. It's like picking a favorite child. lol This was not the first time that our children saved the day! <3
DeleteI happen to think #5 was pretty dang funny....
DeleteThat's shocking! <3

ReplyDeleteI can't believe you had 6 quotes the second you saw it! Where did you learn that kind of sarcasm?? Don't answer that. Love you!
DeleteI’d definitely say that my quote was the best, but I suppose your other kids might be on to something too...
ReplyDeleteFantastic post this week Mom! We are definitely lucky to have inherited some form of humor, and even more lucky to have you that we can share our jokes with and laugh together. Sending much love!
Having my silly family comment on this blog means EVERYTHING. You're all hilarious and you make this world a better place for me to live in. <3
DeleteI was about to ask you to adopt me, but realized I'd lower the "hilarious" quotient significantly. Your family is amazing!
