What a difference a year makes..

Hello friends!

Well, today was the first day of school.

I got up to make breakfast and yell, "Up and at 'em! It's a schoooooool-y day!" at the top of my lungs. (My kids love that..)

I dodged a shoe or two and eventually, everyone was up. One. Two. Three. Four. Well, most of us were up....

and so it goes:

Our youngest is in 2nd grade. Different missing teeth, shorter hair and one less pylon orange cast.

Our middle child is now a Freshman in high school. His feet, legs and Ego are all growing nicely.

And then there is our eldest. No 1st day of school photo for her. She is entering college as a sophomore and doesn't start for another week. As hard as I tried (from far, far down the hallway), I was afraid to couldn't wake her.

Two out of three "ain't " bad, right?

Happy beginning of another year, friends.

  1. I am so looking forward to your report of Alex's first day of college. Where did she decide to go? Jon doesn't seem to think that college is that big a deal. Guess that means he was ready to go. And let me say that middle child being a freshman is down right scary. Hope you all have a wonderful year.

    1. Alex is at Weber St.. She has her scholarship through them and is pretty happy. If she continues into dentistry, she'll have to move on, but many people say "W" is a great school for up til then. I'll update as it all unfolds.

"That middle child being a freshman" is killing me! It's too fast. I hope you will be off to a great start as well. Jon is exactly where he needs to be right now :)

    1. I'm so glad; I know they are growing too fast for me. They both love their classes so far. You can tell C. is in high school. He and his friends say, "Hello" and go straight downstairs to eat and play video games...J just eats and build legos. All is well here!!

  7. Awww....love these pics. But I do have to say, the "missing" child pic gave me a lump in my throat as I remember NOT taking a first day of school picture with my missing ones. Time goes by SO fast. Mine will start just after Labor Day. I'm excited and yet not. Maybe it's the waking in the morning I'm not looking forward to. ;)
Love to you and your growing-up fam!

    Your FF

    1. Thanks, Nick Nack. Time DOES pass too quickly :( I really wish we started after Labor day. It seems to start earlier and earlier every year. The kids are out in May now! The middle kid catches the bus at 6:55. It's too early for a teenage boy and a tired momma! I miss you and promise to stalk your back-to-school pics! Love you back!
