Sew What?

Hello friends.

Well, the sewing-of-the-bags has slowed down a bit. You know how much I enjoy all of it. I'm just trying to get motivated again. In case you didn't know, it's been hot as a campfire frying pan outside!

I'm not complaining. The sunny skies have been gorgeous. The (little) rain we've received has been very welcome and to be honest,  I haven't killed all of my outdoor plants. Yet. Score!

One of the real reasons I haven't been hooked to my sewing machine: My kids are home for the summer and I have truly enjoyed having them around. They've been both helpful and hilarious.  Even though I go to bed most nights thoroughly exhausted, I know that during the day, we were all present together. I don't want to take that for granted..

I have had some custom bag orders in the last few months that have been a lot of fun to create.  Working with each customer has been a blast. It kind of feels like a team effort, you know?

I do have a few things left in the shop. I'm trying to put new items in as I go, so check back often. As always, if you need something in particular, leave me an inbox at the shop or email me on that little envelope sitting on the right side of my blog.

I hope you are all eating Popsicles, wading in some cool water or at least reading in the shade of a big old tree.

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Here are a few pics of bags I've made in the last few months. All were custom orders. I'm blessed to have customers with so much trust!

  1. I love them all. So funny, but i had just deleted an email about a new post on another blog i subscribe to, and wondered if I was burned out on blogs in general, but thought, "no, that can't be because I always read 'follow me home.'" As soon as my email refreshed, there was your post!!

  7. Omigoodness, Shell. They are all so cute as always. Is it wrong if I love the Milla bean bags? Are they only for little girls? haha. Too cute with that frill fabric. I also love the black and white and the floral black canvas. You have so much talent it just pops out in beautiful creations. I miss you and your whole wonderful/hilariously witty family!

    1. Thanks, Sav. It is never wrong to love ANY bag! I love that ruffle fabric for so many reasons. It's a little tricky to work with, but the results are always better than you think, because it's so detailed. The floral canvas was one of my favorite projects because I worked lock step with the customer. They planned everything, and I just sewed that baby together :) Thanks again for your positive comments. Alex reads my comments to me through the day...so we were both smiling.
