Day Two of Forty..Yeah baby!!

You didn't think I'd actually show up for the blogging challenge, did you? That's okay, I'm just as surprised as you are...

Today was a very good day. I think much of it was due to waking up to a big yellow ball of happiness in the clear blue sky. Imagine how ecstatic I was when I was able to have my coffee this morning with my cheek pressed firmly against the kitchen window, soaking up as much of the daylight as I could.. ahhhhhh. It was a beautiful thing.

I then spent the morning baking cookies and texting (how old am I?) a very good friend. There isn't anything quite like gabbing about nothing in particular while eating raw cookie dough and wearing flannel pajamas.... And again, soaking up that beautiful sun...

This afternoon, I took my eldest to the salon. Another good friend of mine is an amazing hairdresser and was willing to show my daughter some love. I enjoyed being able to sit back and watch the two of them joke and laugh. I sometimes feel like I don't see enough of that in my little girl; the one who's almost finished with school and stressing way too much about the world ahead of her...

Tonight, I spent the evening at an Honor Society ceremony for the middle child. We're very blessed to have children who have good grades and understand the importance of service in their community. I couldn't be more proud of the people they are becoming....

Shamrock Shakes on the way home from the ceremony AND finding a package of jewelry from my forever friend in the mail? Days just don't get better than this.

That's either an overly-positive remark on my part, or a huge reflection of how lame my world has become.

If it is, I've never been more excited to be lame..

Happy Thursday to you, my friends :)

    1. I'm impressed you passed on the treats, Mark. I guess you could count eating the cherries though, as part of your daily fruit. Yes, let's go with that :)

Jealous of the shamrock shakes though... ;)
So happy YOU had a HAPPY day! "Sunshine is the BESTEST ever" (Quote from my youngest.) And I couldn't be happier that you liked the jewelry. Pics please.....
We actually got a little bit of snow here last night and today. We might be off to go sledding today or tomorrow! I will think of you and me sledding off the garage roof into the HUGE pile of snow. Wow, we were naughty children. :)
I truly hope today is even better for you than yesterday! Double shamrock shakes, anyone?

    Love to you!

    1. I was expecting your call to announce the Shamrock Shakes, Kimmi. I'm in charge of the McRib, remember? Showing my classiness every single day... <3

  5. Wait.. Hold on now. You don't see enough of my laughter? Me? Alex, the 'eldest' (sounds like some creepy Lord of the Rings term, but whatever), and your favorite child? Hmm. I don't want to sound like conceded, but I'm fairly certain that you've mention once or twice that I'm your funniest child, and that 'my humor shines like a never-ending sunshine'. I'm basically certain you've said that?.. Okay, well maybe not in that context.. And, okay, you might've said it to Chris.. But regardless, back when I used to do stand up comedy, they told me I was "the best in town". So whatever, sunshine...

    1. Ha! I think you meant, "conceited" but if you'd like to "concede" that I'm the best mother in the state, It's all good :)

    2. No. I'm conceding that you think I'm the light of your life.. You said it. I think? Regardless, my old band, the "Chel-o's" loved me.. Same with the people I used to work with at the Gap, the Hallmark factory, the Hostess franchise, and my fellow employees at Applebee's when I worked there. You wouldn't believe it, you really wouldn't, but my band actually had the chance to meet the real life Annie from broadway. After meeting me, she was certain. The sun would come out tomorrow. You may have conceded something different about my humor now, wouldn'tcha?

    3. You are pretty fortunate to have had all of that employment opportunity. I'm impressed as well as worried about so many jobs in so little time. It's almost unbelievable. I mean who would ever stop working at the Hostess Factory? Giving up Twinkies for Applebees? I didn't raise you that way. Broadway, however, is a much better opportunity. Write back when you get that internship at the state capital.
