Blogging for 40 days...

Straight? What? 40 days of consistent blogging from a woman you've heard from twice in two months?

Yep. That's me. I need to work on commitment this Lent, and this seems to be a pretty good place to be held accountable. I'm online so you can leave comments of encouragement. If I fail, hopefully you live far enough away that I won't be able to see you shake your head in shame..If you live close, I'll cross my fingers that you won't find my hiding place(s).

My kids and husband ROCK Lent. Completely. There is no respectful way to say it. Each one knows what they want to give up every year and they do it. They do not waver. No soda, no sweets, no fast food. Who are these people?  I do not have their strength nor do I have their determination. But what better examples could I follow?

So I will practice daily kindness. I will be aware of what I consume, both food and purchases brought into the home. And I will ramble on to you about who-knows-what for the next forty days.

I can only imagine the starter-projects I'll now have to finish. Or the embarrassing stories I'll have to tell. Come on, you know you want to follow. Leave comments to tell me how impressed you are that I'm still up and walking every day and that my mind is somewhat intact. Learn something, laugh a little and help out a girl who is working on finishing something (anything) she's started. Make no mistake, there will be chocolate, and large amounts of caffeine involved. But thats ok.

Baby steps, people. I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow :)

  2. YES!
This is the BEST Lent present EVER! Wha?? No? You don't get gifts for Lent?? Well I'll be dog-gone. HUMPH! Well anyways, I'm going to be thrilled to "read" you each and everyday. Your like my Citizen Patriot. With less drama. (chuckle)
Oh, and I'm a wee bit nervous about something you wrote. This talk of you "being more aware of what you consume, both food and purchases brought into the home," this doesn't include any purchases of "bling" or "glam", does it? Okay. Whew! Just checking... ;)

    Love ya, my FF!!

    2. Hahahahahahahahahaha best blog comment. Ever. Rock on, Dad! We are pretty sick tight at Lent though.. Wahoo! 38 more days of blog posting.. I highly recommend that a few dozen of those posts consist of baked goods and/or praise of your favorite kid.. I mean, whatever.. It's your blog.. 40 days is a long time, so we'll see!
Cheers to the classiest blog out there! :)
The author of the blog on the other hand.. debatable..
      Love, the best kid!

  4. This news makes me very, very happy. I've missed you! I've started a little blog myself...sort of...only one post so far. I guess planning a wedding and starting a blog don't go so well together?
Tori broke out her shellybean bag for spring (yes, this is Texas, it's going to be 81 today) and all the kids at school love it and want to know where to get one!

  5. Woo-hoo! I can't wait! I've missed your posts recently!

If I could bottle some of the sunny, warm weather we're enjoying in Scottsdale this week and bring it home for you, believe me, I would. It'll bring great cognitive dissonance when I have to leave the sunny, 80 degree days, to return to cold, grey, wet Utah.

    Love you!
