I'm not ready....

Summer went way too fast. It's just that simple. Today, we sent all of our kids off to school. It's the first year I'm not teaching at all..and I'm not sure how to feel about that.

If you count the oldest taking her college courses, we now have one child at the University and high school, one at the middle school and one in elementary. I can't believe it.

It's my 100th blog post. I need to figure out a path before my 101st, or I'm heading for a mid-life crisis.

Mom pretending not to cry..  Notice the grip on that boy's shoulder. It's not suppose to be this hard, right?

What's that, husband/photographer? You say that after the kids get dropped off, we're going to Starbucks?....Well....

"See you after school, suck-ahs!!!"

Happy School-y Day, friends :)

  1. It was hard to see them go today but we are very proud of them and know they will once again accomplish great things in school this year!

  2. I had tears looking at your adorable children. My goodness how time flies! Noah is off to 2nd grade and Zander to preschool. Ugh. They start the 6th. (also a dear friends Birthday!) He is MY last first day of school. I know...it's just preschool and next year is the "real" thing, but I still feel this HUGE lump in my throat when I think of it.
What's that you say??? I too can be off to Starbucks after they leave??? Awesome. Thanks so much for the permission. Can I get that in writing? :)

    Miss ya FF. <3

PS. Got my amazingly wonderful shellybean bag! I should of told ya that a week ago. I'm a slacker. Loser. I stink. Sorry. But I LOVE it!!! :0)

  3. You have such beautiful kids. Thanks for the great pictures. And, they're even more beautiful on the inside. I'm constantly in awe of what an amazing job you and Mark have done raising your family.

You are an awesome mom who will get to enjoy your Starbuck's soon. @Nicole, what a beautiful thing to say. Thank you for your support. We are very lucky to have such a great family help us raise our kids. Thanks for rocking the "aunt" part. Our kids adore you :)

  5. I think you've gotten me hooked on your blog! I started looking more often after the beautiful message you left for my birthday, mentioning kids of different ages. This year we have two in elementary, one in middle, one in high school, one in college, and one who is wonderfully, gloriously, FINISHED!!! (and, gainfully employed in a career job!) I've toyed with the idea of starting a blog of my own, but just not sure yet. You're inspiring and also a reminder of how high the bar is set. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hilarie, what a wonderful comment. Thank you so much. You DO have a range of kids! I love that. You should definitely make a blog. Give advice to us mommas who are just trying to make it to the next day. It's admiring to know that you have done it AND done it so well. Hats off to you, strong lady. You can start with, "How to prepare yourself for college, even though it's your daughter who will be attending.." They're growing too fast!! Again, thank you for your words. Keep commenting, girl :)
